Missions We Support

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…

At South Lake Christian Church we support missions both near and far. Each mission is as unique as the people it serves, but one thing they all have in common is the desire to reach people for Jesus.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

CRA

Christian Restoration Association

This organization is a helping hand to the Restoration Movement and a help to Christian Churches in several ways.  They publish the Restoration Herald, which contains articles of encouragement and information regarding the Restoration Movement.  They also work with our Bible colleges and churches.  They hold a preaching convention in Ohio each year for church members across the country and world to attend for fellowship and Bible teaching.

Family Ministries

Family Ministries of Florida

This is a home and school for children whose parents cannot care for them.  Most are placed at Family Ministries by the court system.  Some children stay until adulthood while others go back to their families when the situation in the family is resolved.  There are currently 20+ children in two group homes.  They go to Christian Churches and attend the Christian school located on campus.

JU-Florida-og

Johnson University Florida

Formerly Florida Christian College, this is the only Restoration Movement college in the state of Florida. They train preachers, teachers, missionaries, and Christian leaders of the future.  Since we believe that Christian education is the hope of the world, we are pleased to contribute to the needs of this school.

LACC

Lake Aurora Christian Camp

Each year our children and many adults attend summer camp at Lake Aurora.  It is a tool that we use in addition to our Bible classes and youth activities.  As they are enjoying outdoor activities and making new friends, they also learn Bible stories and Bible truths while learning how to apply them to their lives. Lake Aurora also hosts many retreats throughout the year for men, women, teachers, seniors, mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, church leadership, and more.

Rio Bravo

Rio Bravo Christian Ministries

Brad and Linda Berg are missionaries serving on the Texas/Mexico border.  They minister to those living on the border through preaching, teaching, and being the hands and feet of Jesus. While they live in the United States, they constantly attend to both the spiritual and physical needs of those living in Mexico.

Church Plant

South Lake Christian Church Plant

This is a fund that we are building in the hope of starting another Christian Church in the future.  There are several areas in Florida that do not have a Christian Church.  We hope that we will be able to one day alleviate this need by contributing to and starting a new congregation.

Southern Cross white

Southern Cross Ministries

Jim and Becky Newman are missionaries serving in Australia near Queensland. They have planted several churches in the area.  In addition to preaching and teaching in the local churches, they have adult Bible classes.  Some of these adult Bible classes are taught by Bible college professors who are visiting from the United States.  They are also training native ministers to continue their work in the future.  Not only has the mission grown during their years of service, but it is now served by some second generation Newmans.

UF small

University of Florida Christian Campus House

Bob and Celeste Gailey have been ministering to University of Florida and Santa Fe Community College students for many years.  They not only encourage and provide spiritual services for students who come from our Christian Churches, but they also witness a to others, including those who have come to study from other countries.  Two evenings a week are devoted to the English Corner, a discussion group for foreign students who wish to improve their command of the English language.  This contact provides an opportunity to present the gospel to those who have not yet heard.
